Sort Excel Shipment and Inventory Data by Any Column

Logistics coordinators work with Excel exports from WMS platforms, carrier portals, and ERP systems that arrive unsorted — making daily shipment reviews, carrier comparisons, and inventory reconciliations slower than they should be. Deliteful sorts your logistics data by any column in a single upload, no Excel macros or manual reordering required.

A morning shipment review might require sorting a 2,000-row delivery export by expected delivery date to identify what is late. An inventory reconciliation needs rows sorted by warehouse location or SKU code. A carrier performance review sorts by carrier name then by on-time percentage. Each of these is a distinct sort operation on a different file — and doing them manually in Excel every day adds up to a meaningful chunk of coordination time.

Deliteful applies column-level sorting to each worksheet in your workbook independently. If your logistics workbook has tabs for inbound, outbound, and returns, each sheet with the target column gets sorted without disturbing the others. Numeric values sort correctly as numbers — critical for quantity and date fields — and empty cells fall to the bottom. The output is a clean sorted file ready for your daily ops review or carrier email.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload your logistics Excel export

Upload the .xlsx or .xls file from your WMS, carrier portal, or ERP system.

  2. 2

Enter the column to sort by

Type the exact column header: 'Expected Delivery', 'Carrier', 'SKU', 'Quantity', or whichever field your review requires.

  3. 3

    Choose sort direction

Ascending for alphabetical or earliest-date-first; descending to surface the largest quantities or latest dates at the top.

  4. 4

    Download the sorted file

Use the sorted output for your shipment review, escalation list, or inventory report without any further formatting.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sort a shipment file by delivery date to find the most overdue orders first?
Yes. Enter your delivery date column name and select ascending to surface the oldest expected dates first. Dates must be stored as Excel date values rather than text for correct chronological sorting.
Does sorting work on workbooks with separate tabs for inbound and outbound shipments?
Yes. Each worksheet is sorted independently. If both tabs share the same column name, both are sorted. Tabs without that column are left unchanged.
What happens to empty rows or missing values in the sort column?
Rows with empty or missing values in the sort column are moved to the bottom of the sheet regardless of sort direction.
Can I sort multiple carrier export files at once?
Yes. Upload multiple files in one session and the same column name and direction are applied to each file independently.
